SUMMARY:Stakeholder consultation on ‘rules on recycling‘
DESCRIPTION:ExPeRt Hub features a workshop on a key aspect of EPR systems: rules on recycling. Rules on recycling is the first of “EPR benchmarks” being analysed in the LIFE4EPR project. The objective of the workshop is to collect views on the different kinds of recycling rules relating to EPR systems. Taking the form of a consultation\, the event allows EPR stakeholders to share their knowledge and experiences on best practices on rules on recycling with LIFE4EPR project. This supports LIFE4EPR in developing the measurement of performance on this aspect of EPR systems. \nNote that this consultation consists of three back-to-back meetings on the same day\, some of which target a specific group of stakeholders. You are welcome to join one or more\, fitting your profile.

DESCRIPTION:This event will bring together EPR experts and practitioners (PROs\, producers\, and compliance experts) to discuss key challenges and opportunities in the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes\, with particular focus on registration and free-riding. The discussion will focus on two critical areas: the development of a unified producer registry to streamline product registration and reporting across markets and how harmonisation can help address free-riding practices that undermine fair competition and effective waste management financing. Drawing insights from stakeholders from different EU countries\, regulatory levels and product streams\, the event aims to gain key takeaways on how to further harmonise EPR registries in the EU to improve the transparency and enforceability of EPR in the EU.”
