The overarching mission of ExPeRt Hub is to enhance the quality and implementation of EPR policies. The Hub seeks to do so by providing a venue for knowledge and experience sharing and discussions among government officials, societal stakeholders, researchers and other experts interested in EPR. The hub is a network open to all –  we envision the participation of actors such as the civil society and consumer groups, academia, and those directly engaged in the management of EPR systems such as Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs), industry, municipalities and central government officials. We hope to create a venue that breaks silo thinking and enhances learning across waste streams and specific industry sectors. We also wish to provide a safe space for targeted groups of actors such as government officials at local, national, EU and international levels to freely exchange ideas and thoughts without worrying about formalities and official positions.

While the focus of the Hub is primarily related to EPR systems in Europe, we seek to engage actors outside of Europe  as well in order to facilitate cross-learning.  In addition to mutual capacity building via dialogue and knowledge exchange, the Hub offers the most comprehensive online database on EPR literature globally, enabling members of the Hub to easily find research articles and policy analyses on EPR.
