Looking Ahead: From Concept to Pilot

Looking Ahead: From Concept to Pilot

The LIFE4EPR concept represents an important milestone, but the journey towards harmonised EPR reporting continues.

The project identified several complementary priorities for future harmonisation, including:

  • aligning the definition of “producer”;
  • harmonising product categories and scope;
  • making registration and reporting forms available in both English and national languages;
  • aligning reporting frequencies and deadlines.

The next phase of LIFE4EPR will see the Registration and Reporting Gateway developed into a pilot web tool, allowing stakeholders to test its functionality and assess practical aspects such as interoperability, unique registration numbers, reporting formats and data access rights.

Discover the EU-LIFE4EPR Registration and Reporting Gateway concept in the Executive Summary, which provides a concise overview of the proposed approach, its three modules and how it could support more harmonised EPR registration and reporting across Europe. The complete analysis, including case studies, best practices and policy recommendations will be published in the final project report expected by March 2027.
